So far the food bill for the month of November is up to $1,438.05. *lookin into camera* I decided not to even add in the dayum thanksgiving catering. That's just ridiculous. I now know where our dayum money goes. And mind you, this ain't eating out money. Ohhh cuz we don't get to do that here. *sigh* That's money that I could be saving for myself. I'ma have to go back to planning out the meals and buying food that way again. And also look up the local farms here to cut back on fresh food money.
be glad you don't have any boys. my baby's favorite words are "i wanna eat." says it plan as day! says it all day. them boys are gonna eat me out of a house and a home!
you know i tried that planning the meals and buying the food like that... that didn't work. cause when i made the list i planned what i wanted but when i got to that day i didn't want it anymore. so i don't plan meals anymore.
OK, so nooow you've got a bill higher than ours. (smile). I feel your pain. I think sticking to a shopping list and cutting out the impulse buys would help me. I also feel like skipping a weekend of food shopping would make the biggest difference - instead of constantly replensihing the food supply, let it get low (even real low) for awhile, so folks can get more creative and EAT MORE LEFTOVERS! :)
Does your husband ever complain about the toilet paper bill? This comedian said he has 4 girls and a wife, he said they are always out of toilet paper! LOL
p.s. the food bill just made me clutch my heart for you!
I'm in the same boat as you with the grocery bill so I don't feel so bad. Smile.
This past month we've gone back to creating menus for two weeks and doing our shopping that way. It's worked SO well Now all I have to do is figure out how to get my hubby to STICK to the grocery list when we go to the store. I'm always fussing at him telling him "THAT'S NOT ON THE LIST!!!" Lol.

When the ladies get to be tweens and teens, look out! LOL. I only have one child and I spend about $400 a month.

Have mercy!!! That's a lot of cash, but if you guys are good for it, I wouldn't even think twice about it.
